Septic Systems Care & Maintenance...
SUGGESTED CARE AND MAINTENANCE
We suggest that you do not have sprinklers installed over your field lines. This will cause additional water on the ground over the field lines and will often saturate the ground around your field lines leaving nowhere for the fluid in the lines, to disperse.

It is our recommendation that you have proper maintenance done on your system to avoid costly expenses down the road. You need to have your tank pumped every 2 to 4 years. Items like a disposal can cause the need to have the tank pumped more frequently. Water leaks can cause the field lines to flood.
Constant use or a large number of people in the family may cause an extra burden on the natural breakdown of the solids (such as toilet paper). Heavy usage may increase the need for pumping. Items such as tampons, condoms, and cigarette butts, should not be put in a septic tank. These items do not break down. The use of our household cleaner, such as soaps, bleaches, etc. can cause an imbalance in the bacteria needed to grow in your tank, that break down the solids. To help prevent this from happening, we suggest you use a bacteria activator in your septic tank. This is an enzyme that promotes the growth of the proper bacteria needed to break down the waste in your tank. We sell a product called BioForce. This turns your waste into “sludge,” which settles at the bottom of your tank and needs to be pumped out every few years to prevent any damage to your system.
Our suggestion on the maintenance pumping of your tank is:
